iptiam – i Pad, Therefore I Am!
Four days back, Apple launched the iPad. There were many takeaways from the event, but if we could just pick one, it would be how Steve Jobs summarised the iPad:
“Our most advanced technology in a magical and revolutionary device at an unbelievable price”
W’e'll be the first to admit that we were a little underwhelmed by what the device offered. No mutitasking. No camera. No Flash. No Removable Battery. No Removable Storage. How can this possibly be a next generation device?
Then, we read reviews. Remember, Steve jobs repeated this, many times on stage:
“The whole Internet in the palm of your hands.”
People who tried it said it was really fast. The new Apple chip was then cited as the real revolution behind the iPad. As we were reading through the reviews from people who had tried it hands-on, and as we saw the demo from EA, and as we saw iWork for iPad in action, it hit us: Its the software, stupid. Forget the flaws. This is the Device of the Decade. Just look at the price. It can possibly mean just one thing: Apple has, finally, decided to go mainstream.
So we decided: what can possibly be more fun, than tracking the device of the decade, everyday, starting day one, or maybe day four? We’ll do it right here, at iptiam – which, as you can imagine, stands for: i Pad, Therefore I Am!
Welcome, and Have Fun !
iptiam!!
